You'd love to find a community of people you click with, but it seems like everyone already has a tight-knit friend group.
Or maybe you're meeting a lot of people, but none of them feel like real friends.
There's so much you'd love to do, explore, and learn, but it just isn't the same when you do it alone.
You want to find your people but you haven't yet. Does that mean they don't exist? No!
It takes time and commitment to build real friendships as an adult, but it can also be a LOT of fun. You just need a new way to meet people 😉

Hi! I'm Nina. I haven't always had a group of close friends.
Or even when I have, they haven't necessarily been people I actually felt connected to, that brought out the best in me, or that I was excited to see and spend time with.
I was at the point where I thought close friends were a Hollywood scam. I couldn't imagine having people I enjoyed doing things with, travelling with, introducing to new people...
And as I tried to date and make new friends, I just couldn't find a way to do it that felt meaningful and fulfilling. I'd tried networking events, online dating, parties, bars, friends of friends... nothing developed.
But then, things changed.
Niloo and I met in 2019 because we both wanted to build a better way to date. So we started a company together called Hello Iris, and spent almost two years trying to solve that problem together.
And in that time, we became best friends 😁
The kind of best friends who talk every day and still don't run out of things to say, who have seen each other through every high and low (and trust me, there were lots!), and who can't imagine a life without each other in it.
And through the time we spent building a company, sharing cool new experiences together, and exploring what it takes to have meaningful relationships...
We realized that we'd cracked the code for what it takes to make real friends as an adult!
When you join Good People, you'll be part of a 3-month long cohort that meets once a week (virtually for now!). Every cohort is based around a different theme or topic, so you'll be meeting people who share your interests and curiosities. And because every cohort is capped at 10 people, it gives everyone the chance to get to know each other very, very well 😉
Along with the tight-knit group you'll be spending 3 months with, you'll also become a part of the Good People community! This means getting exclusive access to a Discord server of people who have been part of other cohorts, regular community-wide events, and a welcome gift to say hello, and thank you for being here.
You're going to love it here if...
Hi! Niloo and Nina here 👋
Nina and I met back in 2019 because we both wanted to build a dating app. We thought there was a better way to date, and a better way to find meaningful relationships. We went through Techstars Montreal to develop the idea of an AI matchmaker that works over text message, and realized along the way that we were solving the wrong problem.
We realized a lot of the things we loved about dating actually went much deeper. It wasn’t about finding your soulmate - it was about connection in general. How we can build tight knit communities, the deep satisfaction of having close friends, and how sharing experiences can bring people together.
We’d faced this challenge of finding meaningful connections in our own lives. As people with a lot of different curiosities and drives, we’d struggled to find communities that we really fit into, that pushed us to become better, and that let us play and have fun. We wanted to create a space and community that would bring people together, create a structure for forming actual friendships, and let people explore their curiosities with other like-minded people.
If building a company together was our playground, and what gave Nina and I the opportunity to become as close as we have, how much of that could we replicate here? And so Good People was born on a dark winter night, with the goal of creating the community we always wished we’d had. Where we could learn together and grow together, with the goal of sharing experiences and making new friends that would stay with us for years to come.
If that sounds like something that’s been missing in your life too, we’ve been saving a spot for you.
Not sure if Good People is right for you? Well, you have a full month to see what being in one of our cohorts is like! If you reach out within 30 days of when your cohort starts to let us know that this isn't your kind of community, we’ll happily give you a full refund.
We believe so strongly that you'll find your people here, and we want you to feel like you can check that out for yourself, risk-free.
Are you ready to take the leap?

While Covid has us all in lockdown, all meetings are happening on Zoom! They take place once a week and run for 1.5 hours (check out our Upcoming Cohorts for specific dates and times). Cohorts are run by either Nina or Niloo, who will facilitate meetings so that all you have to do is show up!
Our goal is to bring together a group of people who share a sense of curiosity about the world, a drive to always be learning and growing, and a desire to share that with the people around them.
We do an interview (super informal!) so we can tell you a little bit more about what to expect, get to know each other better, and do a mutual vibe check. We want to make sure you'll be around people you love, and this is one of the ways we do that!
We want you to find your people here and take a lot of care in curating our community. But if our community just doesn’t fit your vibe, we have a refund policy that lets you cancel within the first 30 days of joining a cohort, no questions asked. You can also always come back at a later time and try another cohort!
Each cohort lasts for 3 months, but you’ll have lifetime access to the community. This includes a Discord server and our one-off events and parties.
Our focus is on creating deep friendships, so our cohort structure is meant to help you develop a relationship with the same group of people over time. Each cohort is based around a specific topic, creating bonds through shared learning and experiences.
We’ve struggled with finding the same level of connection in other communities because they tend to focus on one-off, drop-in events. We might have a few passing interactions, but it’s with different people each time and no real way for those relationships to develop. We're here to change that!
Still have questions about joining Good People? Feel free to email us at info@wearegoodpeople.co 💌
Note: All prices are listed in CAD.
You don't need to pay anything to apply! We'll ask for a deposit once we've done an interview and you're ready to join the community.
Stay in touch! Get news on our upcoming cohorts, hot tips for living a more connected life, and a subscription to our twice-monthly newsletter.
It's like peeking inside the window and seeing if this is your kind of party 🥳
